As we enter the Age of Aquarius, its ironic the symbolism directly tied to our 2012 Presidential Elections and the Primaries. The Age of Aquarius begins officially on December 21, 2012; 4 days after the president is elected and 30 days before he/she is inaugurated. Most people are aware the elections will be held November 6, 2012, but many are not aware that it becomes official on December 17, 2012 when the Electoral College votes!
The irony kicks in when you talk about what the Age of Aquarius stands for if you’re into astrology! To quote astrologer G. Kumar:
"Aquarius is ruled by two planets in Astrology - Uranus & Saturn. Uranus represents Independence and Saturn Universal Humanism. Humanism postulates that no dogma or political doctrine can save you; only you can save yourself. If you save yourself, you save society, you save the nation and the Planet Earth! In other words, Universal Humanism will be the hallmark of the Aquarian Age."
You can read the whole article at www.mayanmajix.com if you want to learn more about Mr. Kumar’s philosophy on the Age of Aquarius.
After reading his article I found it interesting that there is only one candidate who is talking about the individual. Someone who is talking about peace as the Age of Aquarius is known for. Someone who is talking about humanism over religious beliefs. Yes, I did have to look up humanism and here is what I found on www.thefreedictionary.com – "A system of thought that rejects religious beliefs and centers on humans and their values, capacities, and worth". Being a good Christian, I have always had a hard time not allowing my religious beliefs to cloud my judgment when it comes to federal law and the Constitution. So who is that man? His name is Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is the only candidate, Democrat or Republican, who is talking about true change. In fact I don’t see it so much as change as I do a restoration of our Constitution. A Constitution that has been all but tossed out by our politicians. A Constitution that is violated almost daily by our Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches. Many of these politicians coming right out and saying the Constitution no longer holds any value and we must progress!
Ron Paul’s desires include restoring the independence of the American Citizen. Yes, it comes with risk; not having a safety net like we’ve become accustomed to. Yes, it comes with risk; placing priority on our freedom over the fear of terrorism. Yes, it comes with risk; we have to produce in order to be rewarded versus living off the work of others. That is the price we have to pay to restore our independence.
Ron Paul often talks about his religious beliefs but places the Constitution ahead of his personal beliefs when it comes to the federal government. Yes, Humanism… center your attention on humans and their values, capacities, and worth…versus your personally religious beliefs. After all, that is what makes our country great; the freedom to practice your religion or to practice none at all. I am heart broken when I hear religious leaders who will throw away the Constitution to try and pass federal legislation based on their personal religious beliefs. First, it’s unconstitutional and second, its self serving as it ignores the beliefs of others!
The last bit of irony relates to the individual’s capacity and worth as mentioned by Mr. Kumar. The capacity to produce in the United States has been severely hampered by the regulations our government has churned out over the last 100 years. Regulation sold to us with the belief that it was done to protect us; but all its accomplished is to keep the entrepreneur out of the Corporatist world. The cost of regulation has made it impossible for the entrepreneur to succeed. In addition, a recent study, about our worth, has shown that the rich have gotten richer, the middle class is all but gone, and the poor became poorer when adjusted for inflation.
The question each of us has to ask is does my candidate value me as an individual? Will he/she have my back when it comes to the freedoms given to me by the Constitution? Will he/she be playing politics for my best interest or the interest of the Corporatist? Is he/she interested in my capacity and worth? I asked myself these questions with regards to each of the current candidates.
Only one name passed. RON PAUL!
